Bill Maher: Should Cut Military Budget 50%, End ‘God Bless America’ at Games

Bill Maher: Should Cut Military Budget 50%, End ‘God Bless America’ at Games

On Friday’s Real Time show on HBO, liberal comedian Bill Maher was showing his unpatriotic side as he not only declared that the military budget should be cut in half, but he also griped about the tradition of playing God Bless America at sporting events that began after the 9/11 attacks.

He also recalled seeing Kate Smith sing the song when he was a kid, and derided her as an “old bag” that he was annoyed at having to listen to.

Maher’s comments about cutting the military came as he fretted that, although he agrees with Democrats that the wealthy should pay more taxes, he was concerned that they would be hurting their chances by talking about it. Addressing panel member and anti-tax activist Grover Norquist, Maher bemoaned:

But they all seem to have, you know — I hate to say it because it’s the thing around the Democrats’ neck — a lot of taxing and spending. Now, I personally think we have a need in this country to completely realign how we spend money, like I would cut the miiltary budget in half. I think we would still — you could cut that in half and still have the most ridiculous rock-with-your-cock-out, mass-murder machine in the history of the world, and that would free up, what, $400 billion or something like that.

A bit later, as he began a discussion of the political correctness over the New York Yankees retiring Kate Smith’s version of God Bless America because she also had a history of singing a couple of songs with racist lyrics, Maher recalled:

Kate Smith — how many don’t know who Kate Smith is? I don’t blame you. I barely remember. When I was a kid, she was this old bag on TV. I think I thought she was Ethel Merman. … I remember, like, the Ed Sullivan, she’d be on. I was like, “Who’s this corny old bag? Bring on Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.”

As he discussed and criticized the recent politically correct backlash against her, Maher soon suggested the song, God Bless America, no long be sung at games:

They took her statue down, which, I don’t care. Again, I don’t give a s*** about Kate Smith or if you sing the song. I’m going to go get a hot dog because because I don’t think they should even be singing the song. They used to sing, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, and then, after 9/11, we had to do that. Could we give that a rest?

Portland Anarchists Jam Water Hose In Mail Slot – Flood Lawyer’s Office Representing I.C.E. Employees

Portland Anarchists Jam Water Hose In Mail Slot – Flood Lawyer’s Office Representing I.C.E. Employees

Last weekend, vandals pushed a garden hose through the mail slot at Sean Riddell’s law office in Northeast Portland, soaking the main floor and basement. The water sat undiscovered until 2:30 pm Sunday, April 28.

Riddell says the water caused thousands of dollars in damage, which will probably be covered by his insurance policy.

He rebuked the vandals who flooded his office for their anonymity. “When I make a political statement, or when I make a political statement on behalf of a client,” Riddell says, “I sign my name.”

The self-identified anarchists claimed responsibility in an anonymous email to WW early Monday morning.

One will fondly recall the indignation of Barack Obama during his “you didn’t build that” phase, when he insisted that the only creator of wealth, convenience and jobs in America was the government, and all innovators and entrepreneurs were just taking a free ride on the back of the magnificent government which made electricity, water, gas and the internet available to the American public. Of course the fool man was wrong about the origin of America’s wealthy and comfortable middle class, but one related area where Obama was absolutely correct about government being culpable, is the subject of extreme, outrageous student debt.

Our beloved former president was so desirous of keeping the liberals in big colleges and universities in the leftist Democrat camp that he took over the industry of granting college loans, thereby assuring that colleges could charge as much as they wanted to for their courses and the government loan agency would approve the loan and assure that colleges could increase their course prices, grow their staffs and give professors and administrators fat pay increases, all on the backs of unsuspecting students.

In the world of college loans made by private lenders there was necessarily competition for the loans and these private lenders would likely have recognized the growing and excessive costs of college and the mounting value of the loans being approved, and would also likely have sounded an alarm. Obama was indignant about the subject of competition and the idea of controlling costs and making a profit, and rejected such old fashioned ideas as being inapplicable to student loans.

The same subject arose recently when Maxine Waters called several banking CEOs before her committee and asked them why they weren’t doing more to help students to be able to limit and control their student debt levels.

(Article Continues Below Advertisement)

Ms. Waters was unaware that Obama had taken the student loan industry under his wing and she looked like the fool she is when the CEOs told her they had not given out any student loans for over nine years. In other words, the subject that she was trying to pin on the private industry banking community was solely the fault of the government agency that Obama edicted would henceforth be charged with awarding student loans.

Although Ms. Waters was made aware that the government was responsible for the outrageous level of student indebtedness that could limit their future economic welfare for many years, she dropped the subject immediately when she learned it was the fault of government, and that it was the left’s hero, the man who swore to “fundamentally transform America”, who put this fiasco into motion. When private industry is at fault there are always leftists who will use every tool at their disposal, including the threat of imprisonment and punitive regulations to hurt a company’s profitability, in an attempt to get the rogues under control. But when government is hurting the very nation and the citizens it is its duty to protect, the subject is covered up and forgotten ASAP.

Prosecutors: Sex Cult Illegally Bundled Money for Hillary Clinton

Prosecutors: Sex Cult Illegally Bundled Money for Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton has her share of disreputable donors. They support her because they believe she will do better, or less worse, than her opponents on issues they care about. So when prosecutors say that a sex cult has been illegally bundling money for her, you have to wonder what they were expecting in return.

Patrick Howley at Big League Politics has been covering the antics of the NXIVM sex cult. He is working with ex-cult employee Frank Parlato to expose the sleaze. Known for running a master-slave ring, the cult is currently being prosecuted for racketeering.

Prosecutors filed a document recently indicating they will be producing evidence that the cult illegally bundled money for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign. The cult leaders exceeded contribution limits by having cult members donate. They would then reimburse them. The contributions were “bundled” and presented to Clinton at a campaign fundraiser. A political operative tipped off prosecutors. That operative pleaded guilty to unrelated bribery charge regarding campaign contributions.

The Cult Leader

Prosecutors will bring witnesses and documents proving so at trial. They say the defendants made the donations in order to pursue their own agenda, which included targeting enemies of the cult leader. Cult leader Keith Raniere is an accused pedophile. He documented himself having sex with a 15-year-old girl, who became a slave.

And previously in 2006, the sex cult leaders contributed $29,900 to Clinton. At least three of the cult’s officials are members of the Clinton’s Global Initiative.

The cult claimed to be a multi-level marketing company rooted in “humanitarian” principles. It offered self-help for women in particular. The inner sanctum of the cult is known as “DOS.” It stands for “dominus obsequious sororium,” or “master over the slave women.” The cult included several members of high society. It heavily recruited celebrities.

Female members of the group helped Raniere procure “slaves.” They would obtain embarrassing photos of them in order to blackmail them into cooperating. Initiation into the cult included branding the women with Raniere’s initials.

The Ball is Already Dropping

Former Smallville actress Allison Mack pleaded guilty earlier this month to racketeering. She is considered the No. 2 person in the cult after Raniere.

Raniere will go on trial later this month. Some of the charges against him include forced labor and possession of child pornography. Co-founder Nancy Salzman also pleaded guilty to racketeering. Her daughter Lauren admitted to enslaving a woman. She said she threatened to deport the woman back to Mexico if she did not perform requested labor. Seagram’s heiress Clare Bronfman has also been charged. She and her sister Sara are accused of bankrolling the group.

Clinton isn’t the only politician with ties to the sex cult. The father of 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand once worked as a lobbyist for the group. In 2004, he earned $25,000 per month for four months. They fired him, and ended up having to pay him $100,000. Her father and stepmother, who are second cousins, were both involved with the cult. Sen. Gillibrand once sat at a table reserved for the cult at a Hillary Clinton fundraiser. This could lead to problems as her reputation as the #MeToo candidate for president.

This isn’t the end of the story. As prosecutors bring forth their evidence, it will come out in further detail what the cult leaders expected to get from Clinton in return. Will she denounce the contributions?

Some donors who supported Catherine Pugh’s re-election campaign want their money back as the Democratic Baltimore mayor is embroiled in her kids’ book fiasco.

Pugh allegedly sold her self-published “Healthy Holly” books to the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) for $500,000 while on the system’s board. The FBI and IRS executed search warrants against Pugh Thursday and several officials including Maryland Republican Gov. Larry Hogan have called on the 69-year-old mayor to resign.

“I have requested the Committee to Retain Catherine E. Pugh return my contribution to her campaign in full,” former state Del. Connie DeJuliis of Baltimore County said, The Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday. “I am disappointed in the mayor’s lack of judgment, to say nothing of her lack of integrity.”

Pugh had accumulated $1 million in donations for her re-election campaign at the end of January, according to The Sun.

Realtor Alan R. Ingraham donated nearly $5,000 to Pugh’s campaign, but is “leaning” toward asking for his money back. Baltimore resident James DeGraffenreidt contributed $2,000, The Sun reported.

“They should send me a check back,” DeGraffenreidt said, according to The Sun.

Pugh returned $100,000 to UMMS and canceled her book deal, according to WBALTV 11.

She has been on an indefinite leave of absence due to pneumonia.

Pugh’s website was not accepting contributions at the time of reporting.

It was apparently disabled Monday, according to The Sun.
